- Real Estate AustraliaView Project
-
Real Estate Australia, Australia's #1 website for people looking to buy, rent, or sell a property was looking to refresh their site. I, along with my colleagues at Local Matters, worked on their new site. My work focused on interactive elements in the site: floorplans which allow you to zoom and pan within them, and photogalleries with intelligent loading mechanisms. I also implemented UI for the property details pages, results views, and kept things compatible with older browsers.

- Real Estate Australia MobileView Project
-
When the REA Group decided they wanted a mobile web counterpart to their newly rebuilt australian portal, they contracted Local Matters. I aided in design and led the User Interface effort to implement the mobile variant. Features include full HTML5 syntax, advanced CSS3 including hardware accelerated CSS transforms, and the creation of a new tiny Javascript library specifically targeting newer mobile web browsers. I also created a lower-tier experience for phones which do not support these features, working all the way back to the Motorola RAZR.

This resort developer of the South Carolina Low country wanted a site that could educate prospective vacation home buyers in a thorough manner. The site I created features a housing search‚ an interactive frequently asked questions section‚ and tons upon tons of high resolution images. Each home is geocoded to within 10 feet of its location through the backend - allowing customers to see vacation homes from a Google Property Map.

Century 21 Boling‚ the #1 Century 21 office in North and South Carolina‚ needed a site that was clean‚ elegant‚ and would differentiate itself from the competition. My design was intentionally simple and direct, like their identity; it features a small color palette with an emphasis on clean typography. Highlights include a custom image rollover method‚ and neighborhood based Google Map searching.

One of three sister properties‚ The Meeting Street Inn was seeking a site that would showcase its historic Charleston location. The design had to work for all three sites. (1‚ 2‚ 3) Variation was accomplished by the use of color. My goal was to make finding the Inn as simple as possible.

Mobile web design presents quite a challenge. There is little space to use‚ nothing works as you would expect across all devices‚ and compromise is the normal routine. I wanted more. To this end‚ I designed CLT.mobi and its sister sites using aggressive changes based on device profiles. The result is a site that is familiar across devices while also pushing the capabilities of the display of each browser it’s contained in.
